Twins Win Third Straight In Boston Thursday

Twins rookie Oswaldo Arcia hit a two-run on his birthday and Minnesota overcame an early two run deficit to top Boston 5-3 Thursday. The Twins finish their ten game road trip with a 5-5 record.

Minnesota cut the early Red Sox lead in half in the top of the fifth inning when Aaron Hicks doubled home Oswaldo Arcia to make the score 2-1.

The Twins tied the game at two the next inning when John Lackey threw a double play ball into the outfield, allowing Trevor Plouffe to score. Ryan Doumit followed with a sacrifice fly to give the Twins the lead. Arcia's birthday blast gave Minnesota a 5-2 lead.

Boston got one run in the bottom of the sixth but were shut out by the Twins bullpen the rest of the way.

Starter Kevin Correia allowed three runs on nine hits in 5.1 innings but still earned the win thanks to the Twins outburst in the top of the sixth. Glen Perkins added a scoreless ninth for his eighth save.

Minnesota returns to Target Field for a weekend series with Baltimore beginning on Friday night.
