Twins Top White Sox 5-4
The Twins defeated the Chicago White Sox 5-4 Wednesday night to snap a 20-inning scoreless streak. Minnesota scored 4 runs in the 3rd inning. Danny Valencia had a 2-run single and Chris Parmalee added a 2-run double for the Twins in the 3rd. Luke Hughes and Ben Revere each added 2 hits and 1 run scored for the Twins. Carl Pavano threw 5 1/3 innings with 10 hits and 3 runs scored to get the win and improve to 8-11. Joe Nathan threw a scoreless 9th inning for the save, his 13th.
Minnesota is 59-84 and are off today and will play at Detroit at 6:05 Friday night, pregame on WJON at 5:35. Righthander Kevin Slowey (0-4) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and righthander Brad Penny (9-10) toes the rubber for the Tigers.
