The Twins won both halves of the day/night doubleheader Thursday at Target Field against the Blue Jays.  Kyle Gibson threw 8 shutout innings with 4 hits and 1 walk allowed with 4 strikeouts to get the win and improve to 3-0.  Both Josmil Pinto and Trevor Plouffe had 2 RBIs and Chris Colabello was 2-3 with 1 RBI.

The Twins came from down 5-3 in the 8th inning to score 6 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to beat the Blue Jays 9-5 in the nightcap.  The Blue Jays walked 12 batters in the game and Sergio Santos had 3 wild pitches in the 8th inning that led to the Twins comeback.  Jason Kubel had a 2-run single in the 8th inning and Chris Colabello was 3-4 with 3 RBIs.  Casey Fien earned the win in relief.

The Twins improve to 8-7 and will begin a 3-game series at Kansas City against the Royals tonight at 7:10, pregame on WJON at 6:40.  Righthander Ricky Nolasco will get the start on the mound for the Twins and lefthander Jason Vargas toes the rubber for the Royals.
