The Twins were shut down by John Lackey, and temporarily by mother nature, in a rain delayed 5-1 loss to the Red Sox Sunday. Lackey allowed just one run on one hit in six innings before rain delayed the game for three hours and one minute.

The Twins have lost five straight games, all at home, and now are 18-21 on the season. Joe Mauer saw his hit streak end at 15 games by going 0-4 with three strikeouts. His third strikeout came with the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth inning and the Twins trailing 3-1.

Minnesota begins a series with Atlanta Monday night at Turner Field.
