The Texas Rangers beat the Minnesota Twins 4-1 Thursday night at Target Field. The loss drops the Twins to 51-55 on the season and puts them seven games behind Cleveland for first place in the American League Central.

Joey Gallo's three-run home run proved to be the deciding blow for Texas in the top of the third inning. Twins starter Adalberto Mejia lasted just four innings while allowing four runs on seven hits and three walks.

Minnesota's offense managed just three hits while striking out eleven times in the losing effort.

The Twins will send Bartolo Colon to the mound Friday night against the Rangers' Martin Perez. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 on AM 1240 WJON.
