The Twins were clobbered 10-4 by the Astros in Houston Tuesday night. Astros slugger Chris Carter homered twice to pace the win.

Yohan Pino got lit up by Houston in what will likely be his last start for some time with the Twins, allowing seven runs (including three home runs) on seven hits and one walk.

Trevor May made his second MLB appearance, this time in relief, and allowed three runs on three hits with two walks in 2.1 innings pitched.

The Twins trailed 10-1 heading into the top of the ninth inning before Kennys Vargas and Oswaldo Arcia hit home runs to lessen the lopsided final score a bit.  Arcia’s home run was his second of the night.

Minnesota falls to 53-65 on the season and will wrap up their series with Houston this afternoon at Minute Maid Park.  Kyle Gibson will get the start for the Twins against the Astros Brett Oberholtzer.
