The Twins downed the New York Yankees 9-4 Saturday night.  Minnesota scored 2 first inning runs and added 5 more runs in the 2nd inning.  A.J. Burnett allowed 5 hits, 3 walks and 7 earned runs in 1 2/3 innings to take the loss.  Jason Kubel went 3-5 with 2 RBIs, Ben Revere was 2-5 with 2 RBIs and both Joe Mauer and Trevor Plouffe had 2 hits and 2 runs scored.

Francisco Liriano threw 7 innings with 3 hits and 1 run allowed (no ER) to get the win and improve to 9-9.

The Twins will host the Yankees again today wrapping up the 4-game series at 1:10, pregame on WJON at 12:40.  Righthander Nick Blackburn (7-10) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and righthander Ivan Nova (12-4) toes the rubber for the Yankees.
