The Minnesota Twins beat the Kansas City Royals 9-1 Wednesday afternoon to move to 2-0 on the season for the first time since 2007.

The Twins did a majority of their damage in the seventh inning, just as they did in their season-opening 7-1 win over Kansas City Monday. With two outs, Miguel Sano hit a three-run triple and Eduardo Escobar lined a three-run home run over the left field wall.

The Twins will go for a sweep of the Royals Thursday afternoon at Target Field. First pitch is scheduled for 12:10 p.m. on AM 1240 WJON.
