Twins Rally Past Yankees 5-4 In 10 Innings
The Twins came from down 4-0 to beat the Yankees in New York 5-4 in 10 innings Tuesday night. Minnesota scored 4 runs in the 8th inning to force extra innings when Joe Mauer singled in Denard Span with the go-ahead run in the 10th inning. Delmon Young cleared the bases in the 8th inning with a double after Joe Mauer worked out a bases loaded walk to plate the first run. Matt Capps threw 2 shutout innings of relief to get the win and Joe Nathan threw a 1-2-3 10th inning to earn his 2nd save of the season. Minnesota will play at New York against the Yankees again tonight at 6:05, pregame on WJON at 5:35. Righthander Carl Pavano (0-1) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and righthander Freddy Garcia toes the rubber for New York.
