Twins Place Liriano On DL; Kubel Hurt

The Twins placed lefthanded starting pitcher Francisco Liriano on the 15-day disabled list with inflamation in his throwing shoulder Sunday.  Anthony Slama was called up from triple-A Rochester to replace Liriano on the active roster.  Slama will work out of the bullpen while Anthony Swarzak will take Liriano's spot in the starting rotation.  Twins outfielder Jason Kubel suffered an ankle injury Monday and is in a walking boot.  The Twins are hoping to avoid placing Kubel on the disabled list and are saying he'll miss 2 to 3 games.
