Twins, Morneau Rout Cleveland 14-3
The Twins downed Cleveland 14-3 Monday night to extend the Indians losing streak to 10 games. Minnesota scored 10 runs in the 2nd inning. Justin Morneau was 3-5 with 2 homeruns and 4 RBIs, Ryan Doumit went 2-4 with a homerun and 3 RBIs, Joe Mauer was 3-5 with 3 RBIs and Josh Willingham hit his 29th homerun of the year.
Scott Diamond threw 7 innings with 7 hits and 2 earned runs allowed to get the win and improve to 10-5 for the Twins. Tsyuoshi Nishioka was 0-5 in his 2012 Twins debut.
The Twins play at Cleveland again tonight at 6:05, pregame on WJON at 5:35. Righthander Sam Deduno (3-0) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and righthander Corey Kluber (0-0) toes the rubber for the Indians.
