The Minnesota Twins sold pitcher Vance Worley to the Pittsburgh Pirates Tuesday, ending a short but turbulent run for the self-proclaimed "Vanimal" and the Twins.

Worley, the Twins opening day starter less than one year ago, allowed 16 runs on 22 hits and five walks in just 10.2 innings pitched. Last season Worley was 1-5 with a 7.21 ERA.

Worley was cut from camp in spring training, then cleared waivers before being sold to the Pirates.
