Twins Edge Cleveland For Hendriks’ First Win
The Twins defeated Cleveland 6-4 Wednesday night and pitcher Liam Hendriks earned his first major league win after numerous trys. Hendriks threw 6 innings with 2 hits and 2 earned runs allowed. He improves to 1-7 this season. Glen Perkins threw a scoreless 9th inning to grab his 13th save this year. Josh Willingham was 4-5 with a 2-run homerun with 4 RBIs. Joe Mauer was 1-4 with a run scored and 1 RBI and had a hit taken away from hit late in the game when he hit a looping liner to left field the ball was originally ruled a trap by the 3rd base umpire before the umpires gathered and reversed the call ending the inning. Jamey Carroll was 3-5 at the plate for the Twins.
