The Twins temporarily overcame a massive early deficit Monday night before falling 10-8 to the Tigers at Comerica Park in Detroit. Minnesota falls to 10-27 with the loss.

Jose Berrios gave up seven runs in less than an inning of work as the Twins fell behind 8-0 after the first inning. Minnesota would claw their way back to an 8-8 tie in the seventh inning, but ultimately could not overcome late home runs by Nick Castellanos and JD Martinez in the seventh and eighth innings.

Miguel Sano and Kurt Suzuki each hit home runs for the Twins in the loss.

Minnesota plays at Detroit again Tuesday night. The game can be heard on AM 1240 WJON, with pregame coverage beginning at 5:30.
