The Twins lost their season opener yesterday at Target Field against Detroit by a 4-2 final score.

The Twins bats could not solve Justin Verlander in chilly Minneapolis, managing just three hits while striking out seven times in five innings.

Twins starter Vance Worley was shaky, allowing three runs in the first two innings of the game before settling down.

Joe Mauer was 2-4 with a double, Justin Morneau had a double and new centerfielder Aaron Hicks was 0-4 with three strikeouts.
