The Royals sent the Twins to their fourth straight loss Wednesday night with an 8-1 win at Target Field. The Twins are now 57-74 on the season, while the Royals improve to 68-64.

Minnesota rookie Andrew Albers kept the Twins in the game, giving up three runs on six hits in seven innings of work, but the bullpen caved in and allowed five runs in the eighth and ninth innings combined.

Royals starter Danny Duffy pitched 6.2 scoreless innings, allowing five hits and striking out seven to improve to 2-0 on the season. Catcher Salvador Perez had a pair of home runs in the game for Kansas City.

The Twins and Royals will wrap up their three game series Thursday afternoon at Target Field. Sam Deduno will start for Minnesota opposite Kansas City’s Bruce Chen.
