The Twins selected Florida high school shortstop Nick Gordon with the fifth overall pick in the MLB Draft Thursday night.

The 6’1”, 170 lbs Olympia, Florida native has a strong arm and above-average speed. His brother, Dee, plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers and his father Tom was a longtime MLB relief pitcher.

Minnesota took flamethrower Nick Burdi of Louisville in the second round, a 6’4” 215 pitcher that is known to throw 100 mph.
