The Minnesota Twins claimed outfielder Jordan Schafer off of the waiver wire from the Atlanta Braves on Sunday.

Schafer, once considered among the game's top prospects, was batting just .163 with 15 stolen bases in 63 games played.

Schafer was suspended for 50 games in 2008 for violating the league's policy on drugs, and also was arrested in 2011 for marijuana possession.
