The Twins bullpen squandered a good start from Phil Hughes Tuesday in a 7-2 loss to the Tigers in Detroit Tuesday. Minnesota falls to 10-28 with the loss.

Hughes lasted 6.1 innings, allowing just one run on three hits and no walks before Trevor May and Michael Tonkin came in and combined to allow six runs in the seventh inning.

The Twins got home runs from Joe Mauer, his second of the season, and Miguel Sano (7th) to account for their offense, which managed just seven hits.

Minnesota will look to avoid yet another sweep Wednesday afternoon when they play at Detroit. First pitch is scheduled for 12:10 p.m. and pregame coverage begins at 11:30 a.m. on AM 1240 WJON.
