The Twins earned their 3rd straight win Friday night with a 6-2 victory over Milwakuee at Target Field.  The game began nearly 2 hours later than expected because of a rain delay.  Minnesota scored 3 first inning runs on a Jim Thome 3-run homerun.  The Twins added 2 runs in the 5th inning and got a RBI single from Danny Valencia in the 8th inning.  Joe Mauer was 3-4 with 2 runs scored for the Twins.

Francisco Liriano allowed 2 runs in 7 innings to get the win and improve to 5-7.  Joe Nathan threw a scoreless 8th inning and Glen Perkins threw a scoreless 9th.

The Twins improve to 35-45 and are now 8 games back of Cleveland for first place in the American League Central.  The Twins host Milwaukee again tonight at 6:10, pregame on WJON at 5:35.
