Twins Activate Mauer, Perkins

The Twins have activated catcher Joe Mauer and relief pitcher Glen Perkins from the disabled list Thursday.

Mauer has been out since April 12 with leg weakness and has spent the last few weeks rehabbing in Fort Myers, Florida.

Mauer spoke a press conference Thursday and stressed the amount of work that has gone into him returning.

Glen Perkins has been rehabbing at triple-A Rochester and flew to the Twin Cities on Wednesday.  He is coming back from an oblique injury.

The Twins sent down outfielder Brian Dinkleman and relief pitcher Chuck James to triple-A Rochester to make room for Mauer and Perkins.

Mauer is expected to be in the lineup tonight when the Twins host San Diego at 7:10, pregame on WJON at 6:40.
