MINNEAPOLIS - Authorities say a 25-year-old man who was living in a Brooklyn Center group home has died exactly four years after he was shot in the head.

The Hennepin County medical examiner's office said Saturday that Kevin Alston Jr. died on Nov. 30, 2015 - four years to the day of the 2011 shooting on West Broadway in Minneapolis.

Alston's death was attributed to "delayed infectious complications of quadriplegia," the paralysis of all four limbs. The medical examiner says he died at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. His death was ruled a homicide.

Minneapolis police spokesman John Elder says it's still unclear who shot Alston.
