Troubled Romance Takes Center Stage Tonight In “Oklahoma!” [AUDIO,VIDEO]
ST. CLOUD — Troubled love takes center stage this (Thursday) evening with the opening of “Oklahoma!” the musical.
Students from the Home-school Theatre, a group of home-schooled students from the St. Cloud area are performing in their version of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Broadway musical at Calvary Church.
The show isn’t your typical musical. Director, Tim Rydberg says this musical is different from other musicals because it focuses more on acting and less on the technical aspects of the show.
It’s about troubled love and lust between main characters Curly, Laurey, Will and Ado Annie. Actor, Jeff Johnson who plays Will Parker says the play sends a message about learning to know yourself.
The musical debuts tonight (Thursday) with performances through Saturday. See interviews with Rydberg and cast members below.
