MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Authorities are investigating a crash during a snowy rush hour that left an Eagan woman dead.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 24-year-old Taya N. Clifford was northbound on Highway 13 at Interstate 494 in Eagan just before 8 a.m. Friday when she lost control of her vehicle on the icy road. Her vehicle came to a stop sideways in the southbound lanes, where it was broadsided on the driver's side by an oncoming minivan.

The van driver suffered minor injuries.

The Patrol reported nearly 300 crashes statewide as of 4 p.m., including 43 with injuries, and more than 200 spinouts or vehicles off the road.

The storm left five to eight inches of snow in southern Minnesota, and four inches at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
