ST. CLOUD – Motorists travelling near the Highway 15/County Road 120 junction in St. Cloud and Sartell may encounter delays and detours as the first in a series of lane and road closures begins at 6:30 a.m., Monday.

The closures are scheduled as follows.

Monday, Sept. 9

  • Southbound Highway 15 will be reduced to a single lane from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 10

  • Northbound Highway 15 will be reduced to a single lane from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Southbound Highway 15 will be reduced to a single lane from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • The Highway 15/23rd Street South temporary intersection will close at 6:30 p.m., and reopen by 8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 12. Signed detours will be in place.

Wednesday, Sept. 11

  • Northbound Highway 15 will be reduced to single lane at 6:30 a.m.
  • Southbound Highway 15 will be reduced to a single lane at 8:30 a.m.
  • Both directions of Highway 15 will remain a single lane through 8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 12.
  • The temporary ramps between northbound Highway 15 and eastbound County Road 120 will close at 6:30 p.m. A signed detour will be in place until the new, permanent ramps open in mid-October.

Thursday, Sept. 12

  • The temporary ramps between southbound Highway 15 and westbound County Road 120 will close at 8:30 a.m. A signed detour will be in place until the new, permanent ramps open in mid-October.

Friday, Sept 13

  • Northbound Highway 15 will be reduced to a single lane at 6:30 a.m.
  • Southbound Highway 15 will be reduced to a single lane at 8:30 a.m.
  • All lanes will reopen prior to peak rush hour traffic on Sept. 13.

Motorists are advised plan additional travel time, seek alternate routes to local destinations and watch for slow-moving or stop-and-go traffic as they approach and navigate daily work zones.

The work and closures are part of the Highway 15/County Road 120 Diverging Diamond Interchange project. When complete in October 2013, the project will increase safety and mobility by replacing the existing Highway 15/Stearns County Road 120 intersection with a full interchange and exit and entrance ramps.
