Top 10 – #9 Angelina O’Mara Murder Charges

FOLEY -- We are counting down the Top 10 stories of 2011 and today, we look at number 9, two murder charges against Angelina O'Mara.

The 38-year-old O'Mara is charged with murdering two men within just days of each other.

The Cold Spring woman -- who also has a Rice address -- is charged with second degree murder in the shooting death of her ex-husband James O'Mara. His body was found November 1st inside his Sauk Rapids apartment with a single gunshot to his head.

O'Mara has also been charged with killing her boyfriend, Michael Pies of Blaine. His body was found in an Ashland, Wisconsin motel room, also with a single gunshot to the head.

O'Mara was being sought by authorities until she was spotted walking down a Sioux Falls, South Dakota street days later. She was extradited back to central Minnesota where she is being held in the Benton County Jail on $3-million bail for a charge of second degree murder.

Just last week, Wisconsin prosecutors charged O'Mara with first-degree intentional homicide in Michael Pies' death.

Adding another twist to the story is that O'Mara's lawyer told a judge she has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and "has little time left."
