SARTELL -- We continue our Top 10 Stories of 2010 with a look at number 6.

The opening of Super Walmart and Sam's Club in Sartell's Epic Center has brought additional tax base, new jobs and another option for grocery needs.

The 144,000 square foot Sam's Club held its grand opening first. More than 8,000 people attended the September 9th opening and got a look at a store with an expanded fresh produce section, optical center, photo shop and pharmacy.

The new store is about 25,000 feet bigger and has more natural lighting.

A Sam's Club gas station is also available for customers.

The new Super Walmart opened September 15th and is about three times larger than the old St. Cloud store. The Super Walmart is 187,000 square feet and brought 125 new jobs to the community.

Walmart has a full line of groceries, hair salon and photo center.

The facility was built with energy-efficient technology to reduce water consumption, minimize waste and reduce energy usage.

Walmart and Sam's Club anchor the Epic Center development which will include other smaller retails shops and fast food restaurants.
