UNDATED - You might notice a few less people hanging out in the smoking area at work tomorrow (Thursday).  It's the annual "Great American Smokeout".  Of course, the concept is if you can quit for 24 hours, you can kick the habit for good.

The Great American Smokeout began in the 1970s in Monticello.  It's since spread to a nationwide event.

If you are a former smoker, what advice do you have to help current smokers quit smoking?  You can post your comments below, and on our Facebook page.
