TODD COUNTY -- The Todd County Sheriff's Department is warning you of a phone scam circling the area.

On December 11th, deputies say that Lilian Ortendahl, of Osakis, received phone calls saying that a company had a prepaid medical alert system ready for her and wanted to know where to deliver it.

Ortendahl told deputies the call was a scam and says she could heard two voices, one a man who spoke English and a woman who had a foreign accent, on the other line.

Todd and Douglas county deputies are advising you to be aware of possible phones scams and to never relay too much personal information.
