Todd County Sheriff Warns of Possible Black Top Scam

BERTHA - The Todd County Sheriff's Department is warning you about a scam involving a black top company.

David Kapphahn of Bertha called the Sheriff's Department on Monday evening to file a complaint against a company called "Black Top Boys Paving".

Representatives of the company told Kapphahn they were working with the State on Highway 71.  He was told they had an over run of black top, and could pave his driveway.  After the work was done, he received a bill for almost ten times the original agreement.

The Todd County Sheriff's Department advises you to get a detailed quote prior to having any work done.
