BURTRUM -Todd County Deputies and the Minnesota DNR found a dead snowmobiler near Long Lake on Saturday after receiving a missing person call.

Around 11:30 a.m. the Todd County Dispatch received a missing person report for 22-year-old Jared Wallenfelsz of Maple Grove.

Friends reported that Wallenfelsz was last seen driving a snowmobile from his family's cabin on Long Lake near Burtrum at 1:30 a.m.

Deputies responded at the scene and patrolled the area. Around 12:45 p.m. Wallenfelsz was found with his crashed snowmobile on a wooded lake lot on the Northwest side of the lake. Wallenfelsz died as a result of the crash.

Poor visibility due to the weather, alcohol and speed are all believed to have contributed toward the crash, which remains under investigation.
