The Minnesota Timberwolves will open one of the most highly anticipated seasons in franchise history Wednesday night when they host the Orlando Magic at Target Center.

The pieces seem to be in place for a successful run at the playoffs, which the Wolves haven't seen since 2004.

Veteran shooting guard Kevin Martin is expected to give Minnesota the jump-shooting threat they have lacked for most of their franchise history, and Corey Brewer returns as the team's shooting guard to fill the hole left by Andrei Kirilenko.

Head coach Rick Adelman is back as head coach after missing significant time last season to be with his ailing wife, Mary Kay. Those health issues appeared to have subsided during the offseason, which was priority number one for Adelman before he decided whether to come back for this season.

Tonight the Wolves will host Orlando with tip off scheduled for 7:00 (WJON).
