WAITE PARK -- Movie Theatres across the country and trying to keep up with ticket demands for the upcoming Star Wars movie.

Tickets went on sale on Monday night and Marcus Theatres General Manager Ben Reiners says they had a record number of users on their website at one time ordering tickets.

"They were on our app but it took an additional ten minutes to load on the actual website just because of the volume of people on our website at once. We had to adjust the speeds of our website via the corporate office three different times," says Reiners.

A number of Movie theatres have already sold out for the December 17th opening night preview, which expects to break the $100-million barrier for opening weekend ticket sales.

Reiners says you can still get tickets and he plans to add additional showtimes due to the growing interest.

"I will add showtimes as needed definitely, but we have 17 screens at Parkwood and 14 of them will be occupied by Star Wars that Thursday night," says Reiners.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" officially opens in theatres December 18th.
