AVON - Three people have been arrested for allegedly breaking into vending machines at the I-94 rest areas.

An alert motorist called the Stearns County Sheriff's Department just before 3:00 a.m. this (Thursday) morning, after they had stopped at the rest area near Avon.

They noticed the vending machines had been broken into, and they witnessed a small black pick-up leaving the area.  An Albany police officer spotted the truck and pulled it over.

The three people inside were: 55-year-old Stanley Smith and 37-year-old Franklin Mosley both of Alabama, and 21-year-old Izzy Graham of California.

Deputies say they found tools inside the vehicle, and about $200 in cash.  It was determined they also broke into the vending machines at the rest area near Clearwater.
