Thousands Went Without Power In St. Cloud
ST. CLOUD (AP) - Nearly 8,000 Xcel Energy customers in St. Cloud and Waite Park were without power Sunday as a major snow storm blew into the state.
Xcel spokeswoman Mary Sandok says the problem was an equipment failure at a substation about 11 a.m. Crews investigated and found it wasn't related to the weather.
She says power was restored to all the customers at just after 4 p.m.
St. Cloud was experiencing heavy snow and 30-mile-per-hour winds Sunday. More snow was predicted for Monday.
