ST. CLOUD -- The 38th Annual Minnesota Quilters', Inc. Show is in full swing this week at River's Edge Convention Center.

About 9,000 quilters are expected to come to the show that takes over 300 volunteers to organize.

Quilter's can buy quilts, quilting material, take quilting classes and attend lectures during the show.

Show director Linda Wines says multiple competitions are offered for the more competitive quilters.

"We have several competitions, there is a judged competition and we're giving away about $22,000 in prize money," says Wines.

Wines says every year the event is growing and gaining more of a following.

Owner of Gruber's Quilt Shop in Waite Park, Sue Poser says, "I've heard compliments over the past two days about how there's something here for everybody."

Downtown St. Cloud businesses are also getting into the quilting spirit by offering deals through a coupon book, The Charming City Stroll Passport, that can be purchased at the show.

The event continues tomorrow (Saturday) from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
