Thomas 'Tom' Winkelman, age 58, of Foley, died unexpectedly, Monday November 9, 2015 at his family's hunting shack after a long battle with heart conditions.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Thursday, November 12, 2015 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Duelm. The Rev. Michael Wolfbauer will offciate. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM Wednesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Parish prayers will be held at 6 PM on Wednesday evening.

Thomas Paul Winkelman was born July 3, 1957 in St. Cloud, the son of Peter and Kathleen (Balder) Winkelman. He graduated from Foley High School in 1975. Tom lived and farmed his entire life in Glendorado Township, Benton County and enjoyed softball, racquetball, and four-wheeling on Sunday afternoons. He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed deer and prairie dog hunting. He had strong conservative political views. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Tom's passion was farming and enjoyed a good conversation and got along with everyone.

Tom is survived by his siblings: Larry (Joyce) of Foley, Jane (Gary) Swanson of Foley, Janet (Bob) Abfalter of Foley, Duane (Lesley) of Foley, Kevin (JoAnn) of Foley, Mary Kay (Steve) Fleace of Grand Marais, Lynn Marie Volkers of Foley, Kelly (Melissa) of Foley; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Peter, August 27, 2005; mother, Kathleen, March 11, 2008 and brother, Gary, January 26, 2000.
