Thomas “Tom” C. Cotton, 87, Becker

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Becker for Thomas “Tom” Cotton, age 87, who passed away Monday at the St. Cloud Hospital. A prayer service will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Becker with Pastor Tom Wright officiating. Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2017 at the Melrose Cemetery in Melrose, WI.

Thomas Clifford Cotton was born October 15, 1930 in Melrose, WI to Ernest & Edith (Webster) Cotton. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Tom married Janet Kohnert on March 13, 1954 in Melrose, WI. They have lived in the Becker area since 1974. Tom worked for Xcel Energy for over 35 years and retired as Superintendent of Operations in 1988. He was a member of Abounding Joy Lutheran Church and Becker American Legion Post #193. Tom enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, going to the lake, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was a caring, loving, dedicated, determined and hardworking man.

Survivors include his wife, Janet of Becker; daughters, Joan (Mike) Karl of St. Cloud and Jan Shaver of St. Cloud; and grandchildren, Andrew Karl, Abby Mock, Katy and Matt Shaver. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Steve and Jim Cotton.

Memorials are preferred to Abounding Joy Lutheran Church Building Fund.
