Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Thomas J. Woods, Sr., age 81 of St. Cloud who passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Interment will take place with military honors at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 4:30 p.m. followed by the St. Cloud East Side VFW Post #4847 at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.
Tom was born July 7, 1933 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to James and Louise (Bachel) Woods. He was a United States Navy “SeaBee” Veteran of the Korean War. Tom married Rosella “Rosie” Driver on July 2, 1955 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. He was employed as manager at the St. Cloud Laundry, later Tom was employed as an Operating Engineer at the Powerhouse at the College of St. Benedict retiring from there as Chief Operating Engineer. He was also currently employed by Centra Care as a Courier. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Parish serving as Eucharistic Minister, Usher and Greeter and a lifetime member of the St. Cloud East Side Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4847.
Tom enjoyed card parties, fishing, polka music, camping and bonfires. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Tom will be remembered for his sense of humor and making his family’s favorite barbecued chicken.

Tom is survived by the love of his life, his wife of almost 60 years, Rosie; children, Tom, Jr. (Ellen) of St. Joseph, Jim (Judy) of Newport News, Virginia, Kevin (Teresa) of Becker, Keith (Sigrid) of Blaine, Sandy (Rich) Roonzani of Sartell, Jeff (Maxine) of St. Cloud, Pam (Glenn) Liesch of Sauk Rapids, Cheri (Kevin) Fuchs of Cold Spring, Brian (Missy) of St. Cloud, Becky (Curt) Knoblach of St. Joseph and Crissy (Steve) Laudenbach of Clear Lake; 34 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and sister, Florence (Fred) Lashinski of St. Cloud.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Alvin, Edward, Clara Uderman, Ethel, Louise Bauer, Marie Diedrich, Urban and Eugene.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
