Thomas J. Schyma age 80, of Foley, died Friday, July 22, 2016 at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Monday, July 25, 2016 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Morrill. The Rev. Leo Moenkedick will officiate. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery with Military Honors presented by the Hillman American Legion.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Sunday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.  Parish Prayers will be at 6 PM followed by the Knight's of Columbus Rosary at 7 PM, Sunday evening at the funeral home.  Service with Dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home.

Thomas Joseph Schyma was born June 30, 1936 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Thomas and Elsie (Kugler) Schyma.  He married Delphine Graczyk on September 5, 1960 at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, Brennyville.  Tom lived and was a dairy farmer for 42 years in Morrill Township, Morrison County.  He enjoyed auction sales; vacations; playing cards and visiting and playing with his grandkids.  At the age of 16, Tom worked in Montana and served two years in the US Army.  Tom also tended bar and drove milk truck for several years.  He also worked for Waldorf Paper in St. Paul.  He enjoyed going to Mass, even if he slept through half of it; was a Eucharistic Minister and an Usher at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Mr. Thomas, as Fr. Alfonzo referred to him, suffered courageously and never complained.  He was a member of the Hillman American Legion, Gilman Knight's of Columbus and St. Joseph's Catholic Church

.He is survived by his wife,  Delphine, Foley sons and daughters; Diane (Art) Reuck, Buckman; Dorothy (Mike) Cairns, Little Falls; Jeff (Jill), Foley; Richard (Christine), Monticello; Debbie (Randy) DeVriendt, Rice; Bob (Jolene), Rice and Matt (Angie) of Foley, 21 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, mother-in-law, Adeline  Graczyk and brothers, Lawrence (Gwen), Foley and Larry (Connie) of Cottage Grove.  He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Ben Graczyk, sisters; Arlene Bauer; Betty Walcheski and a brother, Allen 'Chuck' Schyma.
