Thin Ice On Lakes A Danger To Beware Of This Month

FOLEY -- If you are thinking about ice fishing on Little Rock Lake, the Benton County Sheriff's Office urges you to wait.

Right now, the lake has a large area of open water that has not frozen yet and the warmer weather in the coming weeks will keep the conditions dangerous.

The area of open water is located between the point off West Lake Court and Sharon Place Northwest.

You are also reminded to be careful around this area especially at night, when it is hard to see.

Keep in mind that clear, hard ice needs to be at least four inches thick to walk on and 12 inches to drive on.
