The Weekender: Millstream Arts, Music, Comedy & More

The works of local artists will line the streets of downtown St. Joseph on Sunday at the annual Millstream Arts Festival. Along with the unique works of art, the festival will feature family activities, delicious food, live music and entertainment. The event is free to attend, giving you a great opportunity to connect with the community and support the hundreds of artists around central Minnesota.

- Sunday, September 27th, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

One of the most exciting trumpeters in jazz music is visiting The College of St. Benedict. Sean Jones is a Grammy Award-winner who tours all over the country and all over the world. His innovative skills as a trumpeter and composer has impressed audiences at top jazz festivals at home and abroad. Fans of jazz music can get a table at the show starting at $30 or a seat at $25 with discounts for seniors and students.

The "ultimate ABBA tribute" is hitting the stage at Mystic Lake Casino this weekend. Fans of the highly popular Swedish pop group will have a great time at ABBACADABRA. The tribute band has been playing beloved hits like "Take a Chance on Me" and "Dancing Queen" all over the country for over a decade. Tickets for the one-night show start at just $23.

- Friday, September 25th, 8:00 p.m.

A night of laughs is in store for anyone coming out to this Mystic Lake Showroom on Saturday. A live tour of the hit NBC reality show Last Comic Standing will make a stop in Minnesota for a one night only event. The five final comics from this summer's season will vie for the biggest laughs in this 18+ show. Tickets start at about $44 or you can buy a dinner-and-show package.

The sounds of German music and smell of German food will fill the air of downtown St. Cloud on Saturday for the inaugural Beaver Island Oktoberfest. Along with the music and food, the event will feature polka dancing and beer stein judging contests. Oktoberfest will run from noon until 5:00 p.m. in the parking lot behind the Beaver Island Brewing Company on 6th Avenue South in St. Cloud. Everyone who attends will get a commemorative Oktoberfest beer glass. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the gate.
