ST. CLOUD - If you're looking for a job, consider becoming a trucker.  There's a shortage of truck drivers across the country -- and here in Central Minnesota.

Corky Rollins is a truck driving instructor at the St. Cloud Technical and Community College. He says they can't train students fast enough.

Rollins says they graduated 177 students last year. He says they have room for more, but the nearly $5,000 fee is a big hurdle for a lot of students interested in the program.

The truck driving program at the St. Cloud Technical and Community College is a 180 hour program, which takes about four weeks to complete.  Rollins says virtually 100 percent of their students find jobs in the trucking industry.

If you're considering a trucking career, a couple things to keep in mind:  you can be 18 years old to drive a semi within the state, but you have to be 21 years old to cross state lines.  You also need to have a clean driving record.
