ST. CLOUD -- Before they can light up the sky with multiple colors, hours or even days or work go in to setting up for the big firework performance.

"We are working round the clock," says Tom Richardson. "We actually put the barge in two weeks ago, that in itself takes a day."

After the barge is put in place the pyrotechnic crew can then set up the fireworks display which can take a few days to load wire and test before the big event.

Because explosives can be dangerous the city must make sure that they can keep the public viewing the fireworks safe.

"The Fire Marshal has identified a spot for us in the middle of the river," says Richardson. "We have at least 450 feet in all directions."

People can view the Fireworks show tomorrow (Thursday) at Wilson or Hester Park at 10:00 p.m.
