MAPLEWOOD (AP) - Police are investigating the death of a North St. Paul high school student who died hours after attending her prom.

Eighteen-year-old Anna Jaskulka became unresponsive Saturday night at her Maplewood home shortly after her parents picked her up from the prom at Landmark Center in St. Paul.

Maplewood Police Chief Paul Schnell says there are indications the teen had been drinking. He says police will be investigating how she got the alcohol and whether any substances were ingested that led to her death.

Jaskulka was rushed to a hospital where she later was pronounced dead.

Counselors will be made available to students at the high school to help them cope with the loss of their classmate.
