Teen Rear-Ends Car Stopped at Intersection
ELK RIVER -- An Elk River man was hurt when his car was rear-ended while waiting to turn onto Highway 10 this (Monday) afternoon.
The State Patrol says 37-year-old Brian Hymes was stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of 171st Avenue and Highway 10 in Elk River. Hymes pulled into the intersection and stopped to wait for a passing semi, when a car behind him didn't see that he had stopped and rear-ended Hymes.
Hymes had non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the second vehicle, 17-year-old Sidney Hanson of Shoreview was not hurt.
The crash happened just before 3:30 p.m. Elk River Police assisted at the scene.
