LUVERNE, Minn. (AP) - A driver accused of trying to run down a southwestern Minnesota sheriff's deputy who shot at the suspect is facing criminal charges.

A criminal complaint says 19-year-old Ryan Krueger, of Luverne, fled from officers at a high rate of speed last Thursday in Adrian. Rock County joined the chase and deputies spotted Krueger's vehicle in a culvert in Magnolia Township.

Reports say court documents say Krueger accelerated out of the culvert and headed for a deputy, who drew his weapon and fired multiple shots at the suspect and his vehicle. Krueger sustained minor injuries, was treated at a local hospital and taken to the Nobles County Jail.

The complaint charges Krueger with using deadly force against a peace officer and two other counts.
