Teen Arrested After Burglary, Foot Chase

ST. CLOUD — A 16-year-old boy was arrested on burglary charges and outstanding warrants after a St. Cloud homeowner interrupted the break-in Monday afternoon.

Police were called to a home in the 3100 block of Veterans Drive just after 1:30.

Police say the homeowner saw the boy going through personal belongings before the boy realized he was discovered inside the home. He fled on foot.

Police arrived and set up a perimeter. A citizen was monitoring the police scanner and alerted authorities that the boy was seen in the area of 7th Street North. Police found the boy and gave chase on foot. The teen was arrested in the area of 25th Avenue and 5th Street North.

Police say the boy was found to be holding other stolen merchandise from a burglary in the 1000 block of 33rd Avenue North too. He was arrested on burglary charges, giving a false name to police and two felony warrants.
