MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Minnesota Twins want to make some renovations at Target Field.

The team is asking the ballpark's operators, the Minnesota Ballpark Authority, for permission to expand event space and add a rail bar before Opening Day in 2015.

The Twins say the renovations would cost about $2.5 million. The rail bar would replace retail space on the main concourse between Gate 6 and the left-field foul pole. It could accommodate about 200 fans. The project also would combine several suites into a larger event space.

The Ballpark Authority's executive director, Dan Kenney, says the five-member group will likely approve the plan Tuesday.
