ST. CLOUD - Hundreds of Talahi Community School students and their families got hands-on engineering experience during Family Engineering Night on Thursday.

The event was held as Talhi continues to move towards becoming a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) school.

Kids could build straw rockets, mini-catapults, sound sandwiches and silly putty at the event. Chemistry and robotics displays were also open for students to experiment with.

The event was part of the Works Museum's Engineering Connections initiative. Engineering Connections is a series of educational programs designed to create long-term impact in STEM education for children and educators through field trips and events.
